I don`t know how other riders find this but to me the bike tends to lean over to quite a concerning angle (at times) when the side stand is used. If the bike is put on the side stand on a camber it REALLY leans over and can be not the easiest job to get the bike upright again, particularly when loaded.
Our solution to this problem was to make a side stand extension in 4x 6mm Aluminium segments to bring the bike to an angle much closer to the vertical, making it much more user friendly. It's all fastened together with stainless steel fasteners and a stainless steel `top plate` which clamps onto the stand itself.
It is very easy to fit, no cutting or drilling required. Comparatively very expensive to manufacture hence the price but it is very good quality and precisely made - each Aluminium segment is precisely made to ensure it all lines up exactly and there`s no movement in the extension when the bike is put on its side stand.

Great product
While this may not be as fancy as some of the other stand extensions out there, this one really makes a difference, i have always worried about the lean angle of the S1000XR when on its stand but not anymore this stand extension plate really stands the bike up, easy to fit and great results really pleased with the product

the stock sidestand is too short and the small pad sinks in to soft ground . This extension plate solves both problems

Much needed enhancement!
Easy to fit and means the bike doesn't lean over as much when on the side stand. IF you are on even a slight camber the bike leans drastically with the standard side stand foot. Once loaded if touring, getting the bike upright can be a struggle. This extender enlarges the foot and reduces the lean angle. It make a real difference. GREAT PRODUCT, real Cymarc usual quality too

S1000XR Gen 1 Side Stand Extension Plate (2015-2019_
I've purchased this extension plate for both my Gen 3 S1000XR (2020 model) and one of my Gen 1 S1000XR's (I have two). The Gen 1 extender plate had an extra leave over the Gen 3 plate which gave me the option of greater adjustment. The Gen 1 seemed to go on much easier then the Gen 3. The Gen 3's nuts had to be torqued down to bend the plate into the existing foot but all went well and the extender is secure. Both products good quality, all parts in place, and install directions adequate. I bought a 2nd one from Cymarc so 'nuf said. Scotty
