A fellow biker called me to see if I could come up with a solution for soft luggage heat protection. The problem was that he wanted to use Kriega soft luggage (good stuff, don`t have any myself but a good alternative to hard panniers) however he was concerned about the heat from the zorst and wanted a heat shield making.
What I have come up with is a lightweight aluminium shield lined with a very good, thick heat resistant material I use to line my belly pans for the S1000XR where the cat gets very hot indeed. It also doubles as a plate for the soft luggage to rest against. There`s also slots in it to allow for straps to be attached.
It comes powder coated in satin black and with the heat resistant material already fitted. It comes with a pack of stainless steel fasteners containing:
4 x M6x25 Socket Button Head Screws
4 x M6 Nyloc nuts
4 x M6x20 washers
4 x M6 standard washers
4 x 19mm rubber lined P clamps
Fitting takes about ten minutes, just look at the images and you will see how it goes.

Use it as Exhaust Protector
Bought the "R1250GSA Soft Luggage Heat Shield". Using it NOT as intended, BUT as Protector for J&H exhaust. It does fantastic job for that purpose too. Had a hard drop on the last GS Trophy qualifier and this small part saved me few thousands $$.
