A very early revision of our heat shield for the 1250 that we like to nickname "The Cheese Grater" revision. This will not provide as much protection as our latest revision but should suffice for smaller luggage, not bad for 50% off.
Having purchased some soft luggage for a forthcoming tour I realised that I needed a heat shield to stop the RH bag from melting on the hot zorst.
The heat shield we had previously made for the R1200GSA wouldn't work as the GS does not come with the pannier frames.
To get round this we simply used a large stainless steel jubilee clip (included) to hold the heat shield in place. The clip itself fits through the two slots on the upper and lower panels
The heat shield itself is made from high quality stainless steel and benefits from hand smoothed edges to vastly reduce scratching the end can. It`s shipped `flat packed` for economic postage and is easily assembled using a pair of pliers and/or a vice (if you have one).
The images show me forming my one into shape and then it fitted to the bike.
The design allows for efficient heat dissipation and is easily removed for cleaning.
