R1200GS(A) LC Clip on/Clip Off Rear Pillion Seat Plate Rack in Aluminium Black Finish
The idea behind this item is two fold. To firstly protect the cargo area of the bike with the pillion seat removed - the plastic is too easily scratched for my liking. And secondly to provide a stable wear resistant area for cargo.
The design is an evolution of an original design which has been improved by input from the lads on the www.ukgser.com forum.
Although the clip on/clip off utility box has been very well received a couple of the lads wanted this clip on/clip off facility to be applied to the rear pillion seat plate. Consequently I redesigned the plate and came up with this. It uses the original BMW lock and key to allow fitment and removal of the plate within seconds.
The locating spigot is machined, individually to order, from a solid stainless steel billet and is to the same dimensions of the original plastic BMW spigot which you will find on the pillion seat and offers much more strength over the plastic one.
The plate is made from 2mm aluminium then powder coated for durability. A little time has to be spent to exactly position the spigot in the slot on the plate (there`s a little adjustment) but once it`s set up it`s very quick and easy to fit and take off, indeed it`s as quick as removing the pillion seat.
Bought a pillion seat plate for my 1250GS, and it arrived in a couple of days. Well made and looks the dogs do-dahs. Nice discout too, cant say better than that. Cheers, Mark and the lads at Cymarc.
PS it was well bloody wrapped up took me 10 minutes to get the packaging off lol.

A good accessory for pillionless riding
Perfect. Didn't think there was a good kit to use for a base to build my own removable bag but here it was. Fits good and a good base for a tank ring and a removable tank bag to make extra storage. Was received with a large shoe imprint on of dirt it but that washed off otherwise sturdy built.
