A few clients asked if I could make a two `holding` frames for the Vario panniers for their garage walls. These have been designed to fit the R1200GS Vario panniers prior to the 2013 Model Change.

For economy, it was suggested that screwing a very large hook into the joist of the garage roof and hanging them by the handle would be a good idea but that puts undue strain on the handle so I `set to` and designed a couple of frames.

In this case AND IN THIS CASE ALONE I decided to make these frames as cheaply as possible as they DON`T go on our beloved bikes and purely fit on a garage wall for storage of the bike panniers. Normally ALL MY STUFF is made as expensive as I can (within reason!) using quality stainless, made to order, then hand finished and signed (if I remember) by me. I`m thinking that if these were made from stainless steel they could easily be double the price!

Consequently these frames are made as cheaply as possible, from mild steel and then powder coated. Even then they aren`t too bad and certainly still made to be strong, fit for purpose and made to last.

They work by allowing the pannier hooks to simply slot into formed slots at the top of the frame. Without any form of support once fitted the pannier would just `flap in the wind` so each frame incorporates a `push off` to stop this and keep the pannier more stable.

They are easily fitted with numerous holes to allow a secure fitting to the wall - I suggest you use at least 4.

The first pair I made I had for myself and they are actually quite good and provide safe storage on the garage wall and it also frees up some room on the garage floor.

So, for a low cost solution I think they are a good job. Postage has turned out not cheap but that`s because they need a big box to post them in but I can`t do anything about that.

For the nuggets out there the frames DO NOT come with the panniers as shown :-)
