A custom made tool designed for the workshop. These tools allow easy removal of the gearbox output shaft coupling from the old BMW 2 valve twins.

  • Stainless steel construction giving the tool maximum strength and longevity.
  • Custom made for 2 Valve twins between '70 - '96
  • Cost effective replacement for BMW branded tools

This is a workshop tool which will greatly assist with the removal of the gearbox output shaft coupling. It consists of a bespoke spanner which exactly fits the output coupling and a flange which, when fitted, allows the output coupling to be easily removed with a standard puller so that the gearbox can be further dismantled.

The spanner when fitted allows the coupling to be easily held in place whilst the securing nut is removed. The flange then fits onto the coupling, allowing it to be drawn off the shaft using a standard puller, as shown in the images. In both cases, the existing coupling fasteners can be used to secure both tools in position.

Made from high-quality stainless steel and laser profiled for accuracy.

Does not include bearing puller

Top Class

An excellent piece of equipment which does the job admirably. 200 Nm of torque and it didn’t break a sweat. If you need to take a BMW 2 valve gearbox apart this is an essential piece of kit and well priced. A small suggestion: maybe drill a third hole on the long spanner?

As good as a BMW special tool

I bought this tool to renovate the gearbox on a BMW R75/5. Although different in design to the BMW tools it is very well made, accurate screw threads and very sturdy. To rebuild the gearbox requires 220Nm of torque and this tool is up to the job.
