It`s more common on the GS range but a lot of the lads were having their clocks stolen as they are only held on by a couple of clips which were easily removed, by hand, with replacement clocks being very many hundreds of pounds. To solve this I designed a clock brace for the GS which didn't guarantee the clocks were not stolen but seemingly made the job so hard (you needed tools to do it) that the possibility of casual theft reduced dramatically once the brace was fitted.
I was approached to design and make one for the S10000RR so when a local dealership kindly offered a donor bike I managed to get something sorted.
Once again I do stress it won`t guarantee that your clocks will be safe (if they want them they will get them) but I remain convinced that it will put the thieves off and they will look elsewhere. Not only is it a mechanical deterrent but it also acts as a visual one too.
The brace simply stops the clocks from being pulled out as the brace is held tight against the clocks which, in turn, is attached to two very strong mounting points on the bike.
Its made from 2mm stainless steel, includes two strong fixing brackets and comes with stainless steel fasteners. There is no drilling and can be fitted in about 15 minutes. There are four `tabs` which also bend down and further secure the clocks around the outside.
Once fitted no controls are affected and all warning lights can be seen very clearly.
