This is an adaptor plate which fits onto a standard BMW R1200GSA rear rack and converts it to allow the fitment of a Vario plate which then allows a Vario top box to be fitted.
This is a good alternative to purchasing a full BMW R1200GS rack to simply fit a Vario top box to your R1200GSA.
It was quite difficult to make due to the tapered shape of the original rack but I got there in the end.
It is very substantial, made out of 2mm thick stainless and will most likely outlast the life of the bike. It locates on four points of the original rack and there is no need to drill anything. The Vario plate then bolts onto the adaptor plate using 5 fasteners and 2 black nylon spacers fitted to the rear of the rack. All fasteners are provided and are in stainless along with good fitting instructions.
It is shown fitted to my very own 2010 R1200GSA.
The adaptor plate can also be use, in itself, as a flat cargo mounting point.
