BMW R1200GS Vario Pannier Stabiliser Bracket
This is a stabiliser bar which when fitted stops the Vario panniers from `flapping about`. It does this simply by pushing up against the inside of each of the panniers. It is adjustable to exactly the width you want so you can have as much pressure or as little pressure against the inside of the pannier depending on weight carried.
The left hand pressure pad does not rest against the heat shield, rather just to one side of it therefore there is no undue pressure on the heatshield.
There is no drilling to do whatsover and uses existing holes found within the rear wheel enclosure just in front of the number plate. In one of the images you can see where it fits - I have already removed the left hand fastener.
It only takes about ten minutes to fit and I also supply slightly longer fasteners as in my opinion the original BMW ones are just a little too short. Naturally the replacement fasteners are in stainless steel. Once fitted you simply adjust the pressure pads out to the sides of the panniers then lock the thread off using the lock nut.
It is mostly made from stainless steel apart from the adjusters themselves and the whole item is made to a very high standard as is usual with my work.

Good support for Vario Cases!
Purchased this recently. It works very well and is extremely easy to install. Just 2 screws and then adjust the pads, lock down the nuts. That's it! To mount the bracket to your bike, you can use the oem screws or use the slightly longer ones that come with this kit. Also, I really like the adjustability of the supports.

Very easy to install, and effectively supports the panniers
The support was very easy to install & adjust. It seems to provide good support for the panniers, and reduced "flapping". I'm not able to comment long term unfortunately as, on the first trip after fitting, I hit a deer, broke my ankle badly, and am off my feet for 2-3 months!

Solid, unobtrusive, does what it's supposed to Verified Purchase
Solid, well built product. It does what it is supposed to do. Have yet to test it with fully loaded panniers over an extended ride but so far I'm impressed. It also doesn't stick out too far when the panniers aren't fitted, so is still aesthetically pleasing. Plus some useful extra holes for rok straps or bungee hooks, you can never have too many anchor points
