R1200RT Rear Rack Strengthening Plate

This item was made for a client who has got an R1200RT but had a problem with the OEM rack cracking across the middle - seemingly others have had this problem.

This plate was designed and made to allow fitment of the BMW OEM top box whilst adding some rigidity to the rack itself. The plate has been made thick enough to stop the cracking of the OEM rack yet thin enough to allow it to be `formed` over the radius of the rack during during fastening down.

It seems to have worked a treat!

It comes with very comprehensive fitting instructions, a fitting bracket and all the fasteners needed.

As usual it is made from high quality stainless and hand finished.

BMW R1200RT luggage rack plate

This is a very nicely finished part. Easy to install with a few simple tools. You have to remove the factory luggage rack, drill a few holes in it, mount the stiffening plate and then reinstall the rack. If your R1200RT top case seems wobbley this is the fix as the plate does a nice job of reinforcing the factory luggage rack. Recommended. This company has good communication and fast international shipping.
