This item is made from 2mm thick stainless and is very tough indeed. Not only does it allow sufficient airflow with the wide slots but it also protects the oil cooler from rocks and stones large enough to cause considerable damage.
In this case it is sold separately however the images show it fitted along with the large radiator cover which can be purchased individually or as a pair.
The oil cooler cover locates on the 2 upper rubber sheathed fixing points and the single lower fastener point. The lower fastener is a mild steel screw and is horrible, rusts and is an absolute pig to get out so care must be taken. A replacement stainless fastener, which is much easier to remove in the future if need be, is supplied. Fitting instructions for both covers are supplied.
It normally takes me a good hour to drill out badly rusted screws and retap for a replacement fastener at my factory. If you do have problems and can get to me I`ll do all this work for free because I know what a pig it can be.
It is a 100% improvement over the standard cover and very much `over engineered` as an alternative to trying to make the cover as cheaply as possible.
